About The Caerywlan

A Victorian building in the early morning sunshine. The name The Caerwylan is on the front.

The Caerwylan is a friendly, privately owned 4 star hotel. We have proudly achieved a Visit Wales Gold Award since 2014 to present and a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence every year since 2012 – 8 years running! We are situated in a unique location on the East shore of Criccieth’s Esplanade.

The hotel is a landmark Victorian building which faces south with stunning views over the main beach, Tremadog Bay and the ruins of Criccieth Castle, enjoying some of the best seaside views in North Wales.

Don’t let the Victorian façade mislead you. Inside, we are contemporary and relaxed.

Our 24 comfortable, modern, en-suite bedrooms have been individually designed and many of the bedrooms have lovely sea views

On the ground floor of the hotel there is a relaxing sea facing lounge, chic bar with cask beer, extensive wine list and gin menu. The Tonnau Restaurant is also located on the ground floor with stunning views of the sea whilst you dine.

The Caerwylan is an ideal base to explore Criccieth, the beautiful beaches of the Llŷn Peninsula, Snowdonia and the many famous steam railways, castles and golf courses of North Wales. Criccieth is influenced by the warm Gulf Stream sweeping across the Atlantic Ocean from the distant Caribbean. With a southern aspect, the two beaches are a mixture of sand and pebbles with outcrops exposing rock pools at low tide. The bay is visited regularly by porpoises and swimmers bathe throughout the year in the mild waters. A gentle stroll takes you to all the town amenities.

Treat yourself to a relaxing and peaceful break at the Caerwylan Hotel. For further information or to make a reservation, please email reception@caerwylan.com or telephone 01766 522 547. The minimum age for children to stay at the Caerwylan is 12.

Michael and Frances look forward to welcoming you to The Caerwylan.
